結論から言えば、Prosocial behaviorは低所得地域の方の活動量を増加させるということです。
Prosocial behaviorという表現ですが、日本語では「援助行動」というようです。
コンセプトとしては長く議論されているものですが、重要なことは
１．利他性
２．エゴイズム(greed with a concern for social reputation or self-respct 貪欲さでもいいかもですが）
両方を混合して反映させている項目という部分でしょう。思わず利他性のみで考えてしまいますが、そうではないと。
このRice Universityの報告では、次の4つのシチュエーションで助けようと思うか？という質問に対してBinaryで評価しており、それを合計しています。
- A neighbor needed someone to take care of their child in an emergency?
- An elderly neighbor needed someone to check in on him or her?
- Someone needed help getting their mail?
- Someone needed a ride?
ちなみに、ProsocialというのはAntisocialの対義語として出てきた用語のようです。
